Golden Hearts

Embrace is a tall, slender sculpture of two figures fused into a single shared mass. At the top, two smooth oval heads rest cheek to cheek; below, the bodies merge into one flowing column that narrows and turns gently towards the base. There are no arms, no faces, no detail of any kind — the whole tenderness of the gesture is carried by the line alone. Set into the chest of each figure is a round gilded recess: two hearts that catch warm light against the dark mass as the viewing angle shifts. A deep, near-black patina streaked with lighter vertical veining recalls the grain of wood and gives the surface both depth and a soft sheen. A plain dark plinth completes the composition.

Every piece is handmade — modelled, patinated and gilded entirely by hand, outside of serial production. The pattern of the streaking, the depth of the patina and the glow of the gilding all arise from hand-working, so they never repeat and every Embrace is one of a kind. The sculpture makes an exceptional wedding or anniversary gift — in a living room, a bedroom, a hallway or on a console. A soft dry cloth is all the care it needs.
