Balance — Meditation on a Vessel

Balance is a sculpture made of two simple elements: a wide, arched vessel shaped like a boat, and a figure seated on it in lotus position. The body is reduced to essentials — a smooth featureless head, softly drawn shoulders, hands resting on the knees. The absence of a face keeps the figure universal, imposing no particular identity on the viewer. The upswept ends of the base make the whole seem to float above the surface while stabilising the composition on a single point of contact. A warm bronze tone with a deep, faintly mirrored sheen responds beautifully to light: the inner curve of the vessel gathers reflections and soft tonal transitions, so the piece appears lit from within.

Every piece is handmade — modelled, finished and polished entirely by hand, outside of serial production. Small differences in the intensity of the patina and in the distribution of the sheen are a natural result of hand-working and keep each Balance genuinely unique. The sculpture is well suited to a lounge area, a bathroom or poolside setting, a study, a living room or a spa space — anywhere it can build a sense of calm. A soft dry cloth is all the care it needs.
