Sphere — Decorative Orb

Sphere reduces an object to the purest geometric form there is: a perfect ball, with no detail, no opening, no division. Everything here rests on the surface alone — matte, smooth, with a faintly sandy microtexture that absorbs light rather than reflecting it. As a result the mass gives no sharp highlight but a soft, fluid transition from the lit crown down into deeper shadow at the base, which makes it feel heavier and more material than its simplicity might suggest. The muted, warm grey-brown tone is neutral without being cold — it sits well with wood, linen, wool, concrete and greenery, and never competes with the rest of a room. This is an object that settles a composition on a shelf instead of unsettling it.

Every piece is handmade — shaped, sanded and finished entirely by hand, outside of serial production. The depth of the matte surface, the subtle variations in tone and small surface irregularities follow naturally from hand-working and make each Sphere unique. The object looks well on a bookshelf, a console, a mantelpiece, a desk or in a bowl with other forms — alone, or grouped with several pieces in different sizes. A soft dry cloth is all the care it needs.
